One of my best friends in the whole world got both some bad news and wonderful news at the same time β she found out she was pregnant and diagnosed with breast cancer.
Fast forward to now: she has a beautiful, healthy baby girl and is officially cancer-free. Phew.
Our group of friends has been close since high school, and now that weβre all in our mid-to-late 30s, we knew we had to celebrate this incredible moment with something special β a support slumber party to remind her how loved she is.
This is how to throw a slumber party for grown-ass women.
π The Theme

I went all out with breast cancer awareness and pink-themed decorations. I ordered a bunch of soft matching T-shirts and fun decor from Temu, along with balloons to create a pink entrance tunnel for the guest of honor.
And because I canβt resist adding my own touch, I even 3D-printed a few custom party pieces for fun.

π· The Menu
Make sure you have at least two bottles of wine per person β one to enjoy while cooking, and one to pair with dinner.
We kept the menu simple and cozy:
- Pasta with meat sauce
- Caesar salad
- Garlic bread
Everything was easy to prep, and my friends love to help. These are dishes that go perfectly with chatter, laughter, and a glass of wine in hand.
I prepped the sβmores platter earlier in the day, had my husband blow up the balloons, and one of my friends came an hour early to help with the cheese board.

My husband also got the fire pit ready for later β then quietly disappeared to give us our girl time (but stayed on standby like the hero he is).
π₯ The Night
We snacked, chatted, and laughed through dinner, then headed outside for sβmores and firelight.
Later, I pulled out all the blankets and our camping mattress topper, and the five of us piled onto the couch to watch a 90s classic β The Craft. A fun, witchy throwback with amazing outfits and major nostalgia.
We fell asleep wherever we landed, surrounded by blankets, laughter, and that perfect mix of wine and friendship.
β The Morning After
The next morning, I made coffee while my husband whipped up pancakes and scrambled eggs. We all lingered around the kitchen, swapping stories, cleaning up together, and sending everyone home with goodie bags for their kids.
It ended up being one of my favorite nights ever.
Our guest of honor nearly cried β she felt so loved and supported. Mission accomplished.
π« Final Thoughts
Life is busy and unpredictable. Sometimes we just need one night to slow down, laugh too hard, and remember what friendship feels like β the kind that grounds you and makes life a little lighter.
A simple slumber party can remind you that even as adults, a night of giggles, snacks, and sisterhood can still feel magical.
Iβm so grateful for friends who make me laugh and remind me what life is truly worth living for. π
