Face Routine

This blog has always been a space for honesty, so let’s talk about my face and aging. I’m not a spring chicken anymore—I’ve got wrinkles, gray hair, and I’m 38. And honestly? I love being this age.

Lately, I’ve been watching Younger on Netflix, and part of me laughs because with some Botox, I’m sure I could pass for 26. But here’s the thing: I’ve made the choice to age gracefully. No Botox. No fillers. (Side note: I’m not ruling out an eye lift someday, though.)

My Daily Routine

If there’s one word that sums up my face routine, it’s SUNSCREEN. People warned me in my 20s to stop burning my face, and of course I didn’t listen until my late 20s. Lesson learned!

Here’s what I do now:

  • Morning: I wash my face with Purity cleanser and a gentle face scrubber. Then I apply EltaMD’s eye depuffer, sunscreen, and chapstick.
  • Weekly (ish): Once a week (though realistically more like monthly), I’ll do a face mask. Outside of summer, I also use SkinCeuticals exfoliator.
  • Spot Treatment: If I get a blemish, I’ll use pimple patches and/or retinol. If it scabs, I apply antibiotic ointment—it heals about twice as fast.
  • Winter Routine: When the sun isn’t as strong, I add nightly retinol (without moisturizer, since it doesn’t dry me out). Some mornings I’ll use Vitamin C before sunscreen.
  • Year-Round: I take daily 2-mile walks outside. I know I should wear a hat, but I love the sun on my face—it boosts my mood and gives me Vitamin D.

What I Skip

I don’t wear makeup, so I don’t wash my face at night (though I know I probably should). My focus is on keeping my skin healthy and protected, without overcomplicating things.

✨ Below I’ll link everything I use so you can check it out for yourself.
